Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day Guilt Free With a Healthy Peppermint Chocolate Smoothie.
While many people will decide to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day surrounded by friends at a local Irish pub downing green beer, some may choose to go with the healthier route.
So in order to get into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit, we scoured the Internet for a delicious vanilla smoothie, but decided to kick it up a notch by adding our peppermint tea.
This is our take on a shamrock inspired smoothie, that’s not only breakfast-worthy, but also still yummy enough to have for dessert.
The best part is that it doesn’t even need any green food colouring—the added dark leafy greens will make it a nice festive shamrock green shade.
This smoothie is not only healthy, but it’s packed with immunity boosting ingredients that will power you through St. Patrick’s Day. Who could have guessed drinking veggies could taste so good?
1 Cup brewed For Tea's Sake Loose-Leaf ‘Mint Condition’ Peppermint Tea
¼ Cup Avocado, mashed
¼ Cup Yogurt
¼ Cup Vanilla Protein Powder
¾ Cup Vanilla Almond Milk
½ Cup Kale, or Spinach (or any other dark, leafy green of your choice)
½ Cup Ice
1 Tbsp. Mini Chocolate Chips
-Boil 1 cup water and add loose-leaf peppermint tea.
-Let tea steep for 10 minutes the remove the tealeaves from the water.
-Let the tea cool down.
-Place all ingredients (but chocolate chips) into blender.
-Blend on high for 30-45 seconds.
-Once there is only 15 seconds remaining, add in the chocolate chips.
-Blend for an additional 15 seconds.
