Despite the fact that April is only a couple days away, most evenings are still a bit chilly, so it’s totally understandable if you feel like passing on cocktails and choose to stay indoors where it’s warm.
Because as fun as it is to get all dressed up and hit the town, sometimes changing into sweatpants, turning on a good movie for a cozy night in can be way better.
And hosting a fun night in really isn’t that difficult. To really make the evening special, you just need to add a few special touches, and you’ll have the perfect night in. So here are five tips for hosting the perfect night in.
First things first, change out of your work clothes and dive into cozy PJs, a soft robe and some fluffy slippers. You need to get as comfortable as possible.
Dim the Lights
If you want your friends to be able to relax and unwind, turn down the bright lights and light up some delicate tea lights and candles around your place to really set the vibe.
You’ll need to feed your guests, so having a variety of snacks on hand is important. Chips and dips are always a great choice, but try to add in some different options like mini sandwiches, a fruit plate and maybe some veggies and dip.
No cozy night in is complete without a movie marathon. You could go for some old rom-com classics, or turn on Netflix dive into a TV show binge fest. Some Netflix classics at the moment are The Mindy Project, How I Met Your Mother, and our personal favourite, Friends.
It’s no secret that the wine will most likely be flowing, but for those who don’t feel like drinking, serve them a flavourful non-alcoholic drink. That way they can still enjoy something tasty, without having to worry about driving home. We recommend trying For Tea’s Sake Pretty In Pink Iced Tea Blend. It’s made with juicy and delicious strawberries and then blended together with papaya, to make a pretty tasty cup of iced tea. Whip up some of this and your friends will be relaxed in no time!
